We have added a FaceBook page for this group. You are free to join the group. Fellowship Project: Blog Posting After you watch the video and read the study notes below, answer these questions here: Discuss: o How does Dr. Zadai's experience with Jesus in Heaven speak to the importance of focusing on the red letters in your Bible? 1. Discuss the reality that Jesus' words, the red letters in our Bible, are Who He is as a Person. Describe His personality and manner of communication. 2. The Bible represents Jesus correctly; however, ministries often do not. Why is it important to understand this discrepancy? How can we correct our own perception of Jesus?
3. When Jesus spoke to His disciples, knowing His time with them was limited, what did He hope they would do? According to the study, why didn't they always respond well? How can we learn from this and come up higher with Jesus?
4. The red letters in the Bible are very powerful statements; they are not mere suggestions. What are they designed to do in your life?
5. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth; He is the Spirit of reality. How does He help us to receive and understand Jesus' words?
It is the Spirit Who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.
—John 6:63
DISCUSSION:
When I was with Jesus, I noticed He was quoting Himself as He spoke. It was amazing to encounter the actual Person that you read about in the Bible. Jesus said directly to me what I read in the Bible. In today's study, I want to discuss the importance of concentrating on the red letters in the Bible, which are the words that Jesus spoke.
Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.
—Mark 9:23
Imagine Jesus saying, "Kevin, if you believe, nothing shall be impossible to you." I knew that Jesus stated in Mark 9:23 that if we believe, nothing will be impossible for us. Jesus continued quoting Himself throughout that time that I was with Him.
WE HAVE THE SAYINGS OF JESUS
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
—John 1:14
If I had to simply share my experience with Jesus in Heaven with a limited amount of words, I would express that the most important thing is that we have red letters in our Bible. We literally have the sayings of Jesus. We have exactly what He said, which is what He would tell us if He was with us. That is what He did with me; Jesus taught me for 45 minutes, and what He said was already in the Bible.
Jesus shared a couple of revelations that I was not familiar with at all, which was shocking to me because I received a degree in theology. I had studied extensively and thought I knew a lot about the Bible. I had gone through a four-year degree in Bible, then received another two-year degree in the Bible, plus I had had over 20 years of studying. Yet I didn't know some of the verses Jesus quoted, so I had to look them up.
When I returned from the operation where I experienced Heaven, I was bedridden for a couple of weeks. I took time to look up and review the scriptures that Jesus had spoken to me. There was one thing He told me that I thought was not in the Bible; it shocked me when I read that He actually said it in the Word. Those verses confirmed that my experience really happened; there was no way for me to know a book, chapter, and verse where Jesus said something that I didn't even realize He said.
CONCENTRATE ON THE WORDS OF JESUS
As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me.
—John 6:57
I'm humbly coming to tell you that if you want to be effective in this life and get out of it what you're supposed to, concentrate on the sayings of Jesus. If you were to glean from me, I would tell you to focus on the red letters and really look at what He was saying. Jesus could have said anything to me. There were other things He said that weren't direct quotes from the Bible; He talked to me as a person, not a robot quoting only Scripture. However, most of what He said was directly from the Bible. What He said was so important that He couldn't say it any better than He had already said it.
Think about the fact that Jesus spent 45 minutes with me, repeating things that were already in the Word of God. That speaks loudly that what we have is enough. If I were having my last conversation with somebody on earth, it would be this discussion that we are having now in this study. Your priority in life should be to study what Jesus said and understand His message; there's no difference between what He said and Who He is as a Person. He was exactly what the red letters represented when I met Him. His personality, quotes, and how He interacted with the masses, the disciples, and the Pharisees, were exactly that way when you encounter Him in person; there was no difference.
The Bible has represented Him correctly; however, ministers and churches have not always represented Him accurately. They had somehow changed it to be more appropriate for what they wanted, perhaps to make the people accept it more. But Jesus was black and white. He did not mince with words; He was concise and clear. I never walked away from a conversation with Him, wondering what He was trying to tell me. His conversations with you are very candid.
o How does Dr. Zadai's experience with Jesus in Heaven speak to the importance of focusing on the red letters in your Bible?
JESUS WANTS YOU TO COME UP HIGHER
Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
—John 8:31-32
Jesus wants the best for you, but He also knows that you must come to a higher level of understanding. He does not excuse people; He tells you what you need to know, even if it hurts slightly. In the long run, He knows it's better for you to receive the truth. So He doesn't hide things from you. He tells you the truth. If you want the truth, He'll give it to you, and you have to be ready for it.
Then Jesus said to them, "I shall be with you a little while longer, and then I go to Him Who sent Me."
—John 7:33
When Jesus spoke in the Bible, He knew His time with his disciples and people on earth was limited. He had to get the message across in a timely manner.
I noticed that the red letters in the Bible are very powerful statements designed to get movement in your life.
• After Jesus spoke, He would wait to see if people were responding correctly.
